Patrick Meechan is an ordinary guy, with no such an ordinary life. He tells his tale of unfathomable horror from a different perspective. One rarely touched in this genre. It’s from the eyes of a man bound to God as a born again Christian. A man who thinks all hauntings whether a home a person, can only be caused by one thing: Satan and his fallen angels. ‘These are not ghosts or spirits, dearly departed loved ones or those with unfinished business. They are all demons and Christians have authority over them, and if demons have a legal right to be there, they won’t leave until that right is broken.’ This idea can offer comfort when reading, but it causes greater fear of what does actually go bump in the night. After he moves into a new home, demonic activity immediately ensues. Patrick’s research into this house’s history is highly commendable, as is his commitment to drive out such pure evil. He is in for a long hard road however. With a suicide, a murder, and many complaints of persons falling into demonic possession, he does everything humanly possible to protect his family and those who have lived in the home before him, as they still suffer greatly from ever having been there. One woman is even compared to Anneliese Michel: The real woman from the movie ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose.’ She has all the same demonic symptoms, and close to falling into the same tragedy. This guy DOES NOT mess around when it comes to putting up a fight for his life against pure evil that resides in every crevice of every brick. Believe what you will religiously or even about the paranormal, but this guy’s side is the one to be on.
It’s impossible to read this eBook without the feeling of being watched. Not by someone but by something completely unnatural. The hair on the back of necks stands so tall it releases trace amounts of pain. To read this, the possibility must be known that it can and mostly like will, open a doorway into a real nightmare from which there is no escape. I host a radio show that centers on topics related to spiritual warfare, and deliverance from demonic oppression. It is imperative that our topics and guests glorify the power of Jesus Christ, rather than evil. Therefore, when we heard of Patrick Meechan's story about living in and surviving two separate haunted houses using Biblical principles of spiritual warfare, naturally we wanted to talk to him.
I wanted to sample the book to get a feel for the author and his story, thus I downloaded a free sample. I seriously could not put it down, and when the sample ended, I had to purchase the Kindle edition of 220 Fifth Street. This is a well-written (professionally edited, grammatically correct, perfectly laid out) book. I stress this because many independent authors make the fatal mistake of producing poorly edited and poorly laid out books.
You will get value for the money, and the content flows nicely with well-organized chapters and topics. The author does not repeat topics, nor does he "beat dead horses." Rather he keeps the reader in correct suspense with his true (verifiable) story of this incredibly dark demonized house haunted by various spirits of death, suicide, and destruction.
For the Christian reader, you will appreciate that Patrick Meechan clarifies the Gospel message as essential for ridding demons of an environment. For non-Christian readers, you will learn about the true power needed for combating malevolent spirits. The author makes no excuses for his spiritual beliefs. They are: God is supreme, Jesus was God on earth, Jesus' blood is effectual over all over "little-g-gods." Throughout the book, the author proclaims this fact to numerous people. So, if you are a non-Christian reader, do not shy away from this book because the story and how the entity was stopped from harming the author are well worth studying.
I have over 25-years of law enforcement and investigative experience. I retired as a Police Lieutenant. So, I was pleasantly surprised to read of the author's intensive "investigation" into the history and occurrences of this haunted house. Just like a seasoned detective, Patrick Meechan hunted down every ex-resident, contacted them, interviewed them, and verified his and their experiences. Additionally, he gathered up police reports related to the house, as well as coroner reports and death certificates of the people who had died resulting from a connection with the house on 220 Fifth Street. Nevertheless, because of this investigation, the story is verifiable. Anyone can replicate his research and find the same answers.
On October 24, 2011, we interviewed author Patrick Meechan, and what a night that was. He was articulate, kind, knowledgeable, and filled with the Spirit of Christ. But, the show was not without incident. There was strange "static," and weird engine noises coming over my headset ending with inarticulate female "voices" in the background. Now, Patrick could not hear these things while he talked, but we did. Moreover, after listening to the archived show, we could clearly hear these strange noises and voices on the Internet show.
That is when we began to hold Patrick up in prayer. Understand the forces of wickedness do not want this author to talk or to expose them to the light. He has certain gifts from God, and that is apparent to us. Because of this calling, he is a target for the enemy.
